AGRICADEMY Food is the foremost basic human need, making its production an essential skill that’s necessary for the nourishment of our communities. Our Khulisani Agricademy program engages out-of-school youth in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to organically grow fresh produce; contributing to food security and transforming the agri value chain. We encourage entrepreneurship and enterprise development through the direct participation of African youth within agriculture, from the seed to the palate.
MPUMALANGA
Along with our expert partners, we train out-of-school youth in basic plant production with the purpose of creating income-generating opportunities within the agri value chain. Through our facilities in Badplaas Mpumalanga - which has trained young men and women from across the country in a SETA-accredited plant production course as well providing vocational training - we have seen them start their own cooperatives, continue studies in the agri sciences and contribute to food security with their communities.
GAUTENG We now provide the same opportunity through our new center in Oaklands, Johannesburg. Here we train youth from the inner-city and surrounding townships.
OUR VISION
Our food security vision is aligned with our Vision 2030. This is when Africa will have the world's largest and youngest population. In anticipation of this, we would like to see a continent that can; at the very least, feed itself and the rest will follow. This can be achieved through training young people to start household and community gardens as seen below.
